Abstract

Dans le procédé de fabrication de préforme de fibre optique selon la présente invention consistant à produire par un procédé CVD une suie que l'on dépose sur une cible 41 pour permettre la formation sur cette dernière d'un barreau de suie et à chauffer et à rendre transparent ledit barreau, on dispose un tube 44 de façon sensiblement concentrique à ladite suie de verre, de façon à permettre à un gaz de s'écouler à travers l'intervalle compris entre la surface circonférentielle extérieure de ladite partie sur laquelle la suie de verre se dépose et la surface de la paroi intérieure du tube 44 dans la direction dans laquelle le barreau de suie augmente de dimension.
