Abstract

Contact lens steriliser is of the type in which a lens is indirectly heated by evapn. of a conductive liq., e.g. water, in a small tank. The tank contains two electrodes connected to externally accessible terminal pins. A tank filling hole is positioned adjacent to the terminal pins. A safety cover can be moved between two extreme positions. The first position reveals the hole while the terminal pins are covered. Alternatively, the cover is moved to obscure the hole while the pins are exposed for connection to a power supply. The tank electrodes cannot now be touched while the steriliser is connected to a power supply.
