Abstract

The same thickness is maintained throughout in a panel of expanded polystyrene or polyurethane to provide thermal insulation and to support the roof covering a building. There are parallel grooves provided in both surfaces of the panel and these are prismatic instead of cylindrical. Between the grooves on the upper surface is formed a parallel dihedral depression, and the four edges of the panel are cut away in two thicknesses, one of which extends further towards the outside than the other. The projecting thickness is different on opposite sides; the upper face having the thinner extensions and the lower face the thicker extensions. Sealing joints are fitted between the extensions of adjacent panels, and ample ventilation is ensured so that deterioration of the roofing, or of the roof structure is ruled out.
