Abstract

A pump circulates water from an outside source such as a well or pond through a heat exchanger and back to the source. Refrigerant flowing through a coil in the exchanger is evaporated. The refrigerant passes to a compressor and an exchanger in which it heats domestic hot water. The refrigerant then flows through piping to separate condensers in each room of the building served. Each condenser has its own thermostatic control. The condensate from all the condensers is collected together and returned to the evaporator through an expansion valve.
