Abstract

The mixer tap has two indentical control knobs (5, 6) projecting in different directions from a central body (1), one knob (5) controlling the mixture of hot and cold water, and the other (6) controlling the rate of flow. The outlet (4) is between them, one side of the body, and the hot and cold water inlets (3, 2) are on the other side of the body. The mixture controller has a stem (7) which slides in and out as the handle is turned, carrying an olive (22) at the end inside the mixing chamber (28). The hot water channel (31) terminates at an upper part of the chamber, and the cold water channel terminates at the lower part. The mixture then flows through another channel (39) to the chamber (11) for the spindle (15) of the flow control handle (6).
