THIS PROCESS CONSISTS OF USING A CATALYST COMPRISING AS A HYDROGENATION CONSTITUENT OF MOLYBDENE AND CHROME, AND POSSIBLY COBALT, THEIR OXIDES, THEIR SULPHIDES ON CATALYTICALLY ACTIVE ALUMINA AT LARGES D'ENBDENVES, AND PRESENT 5 AT ABOUT 15 BY WEIGHT, CHROME IS PRESENT IN AMOUNTS OF ABOUT 5 TO ABOUT 20 BY WEIGHT, COBALT IS PRESENT IN AMOUNTS OF ABOUT 0.1 TO ABOUT 5 BY WEIGHT. APPLICATION TO HYDROGENATION OF HEAVY HYDROCARBON CURRENTS CONTAINING METALS AND ASPHALTENS.
