Abstract

The antiskid assembly (1) consists of several hoops (3) with gripping pads (6) fixed radially around the tyre. At the ends of each hoop are fixings (5) such as hoops and rings. The hoop ends are joined by a connection (8) extending through the rim and pressing on it. The connection is a metal strap joined to the hoop hooks by a lever type clip. It can extend through the wheel centre, or between the spokes of a spoked wheel. The lever type clip has a pivoted connection to enable tension to be applied to the hoop.
