Abstract

There are two parts (1), (2) which carry the anti-skid equipment such as chains and which are diametrically opposed on a tyre (P). Each part has a V shape of spring steel, the arms (3), (4) of which are joined by a spiral piece (5) below the wheel centre. A tensioner (14) is situated between the two parts. This is rack and pinion type and applies tension to both chain assemblies, which are joined to the tensioner at its ends (16), (17). There are longitudinal chains (8) which join transverse chains (13), passing over the tyre periphery, to the hooked ends (11) of the arms passing over the tyre periphery using hooks (10) and eyes (9).
