Abstract

1451711 Anti-skid tyre chains EISEN-UND DRAHTWERK ERLAU AG 1 March 1974 [7 March 1973] 9250/74 Heading B7C [Also in Division D1] A tyre chain comprises a central or tread section 1 connected detachably to tyre sidewall engaging or side sections 2, 3. The side sections each have, directly adjacent the central section, a zig-zag chain 16. The chain 16 of the side section 2 which in use will be inboard is permanently connected to a chain 24, and the outboard chain 16 has links 23 attached thereto through which a chain 28 is threaded. A link 29 of the chain 28 is detachably connected to the central section by links 12 and itself carries two links 30 detachably engageable with respective end links of the outboard chain 16. When the tyre chain is mounted in a tyre it is secured by means of the chain 28. The central section may include a plurality of portions, each pair of adjacent portions being detachably connected by links 36, 37.
