Abstract
The turbine is mounted on a vertical axis. It has an inner rotor with radial blades. This is surrounded by a concentric outer rotor with curved blades. The two rotors turn in opposite directions and are coupled by gears to combine their power outputs. Wind on one side of the vertical axis is caught by the outer rotor. This shields this half of the inner rotor from wind which would try to reverse its rotation. On the other side of the vertical axis the backs of the curved outer blades channel the wind onto the inner rotor.
