Abstract

The automatic domestic cooking vessel (1) has an air-valce which closes upon the attainment of a specific internal temp. The specific temp. may be between 5 and 2 deg.C below the boiling point of water, and corresponds to that temp. which prevails when residual air in the vessel has been forced out by generated steam. The temp. is detected by a thermo-sensor which effects the closure of the valve. An electric heating element under the control of a regulator may maintain a temp. superior to boiling point during a controlled cooking period. The period may be controlled by an adjustable timing mechanism which makes allowance for the time elapsing before specific temp. prevails. The timer effects release of the steam at the end of the cooking period.
