Abstract

A turbine drill consists of a housing with several turbine stators and a coupled shaft is supported in its own set of bearings and is connected to the other shaft sections with a clearance to allow for misalignment. This reduces the dynamic load on the drill bit by axial and transverse vibrations to a minimum and results in a longer run between overhauls.
