Abstract
The process comprises continuous measurement of the resistivity of the ringing bath for each type of toxic product to eliminate or for the whole bath by means of a probe immersed in the treatment bath(s). A resistivity level is fixed above which an electro-valve, commanded by the resistivity meter, opens to admit clean water, to reduce the resistivity to a fixed level. The polluted water withdrawn is passed to a purifcn. vessel where the exact quantity of detoxicant is introduced controlled by the resistivity meter. The process is carried out in an installation comprising (a) a rinsing bath linked to (b) a purificn, vessel; a source of fresh water for (a) and of detoxicant for (b); an electro valve on the water feed and a pump for the detoxicant controlled via a resistivity meter linked to a probe in (a). The process is used for the treatment of metal and plastics surfaces. It enables a reduction in the amt. of water and detoxicant used and is cheaper and easier than present methods.
