Bougie de préchauffage caractérisée en ce que le premier matériau isolant placé dans la zone qu'englobe la spirale chauffante possède un coefficient de dilatation thermique qui est au moins semblable, en valeur et allure de température, à celui du molybdène ou du tungstène et le second matériau isolant remplissant l'espace restant est constitué par de l'oxyde de magnésium, ces matériaux isolants se trouvant, en outre, dans un état fortement comprimé particulièrement dans le sens radial. c. L'invention s'applique aux bougies de préchauffage à tige incandescente pour moteurs à combustion interne.
