Abstract

L'invention concerne un diaphragme poreux destiné à équiper une cellule d'électrolyse de saumures de chlorures de métaux alcalins. Ce diaphragme comprend une étoffe de support (feutre de fibres thermoplastiques) imprégnée d'un constituant actif non fibrillaire contenant SiO2 ; la perméabilité du diaphragme pour les saumures de chlorures alcalins est d'environ 100 à 300 ml par minute par m**2 du diaphragme pour une pression correspondant à une hauteur de saumure de 0,25 à 51 cm. Ces diaphragmes composites peuvent servir dans des cellules d'électrolyse, où ils sont stables et faciles à monter et à démonter.
