Abstract
La presente invención se refiere a una célula electrolítica que permite producir cloruro y sodio, o litio, a partir de electrolitos de cloruro fundido. En un primer modo de realización, la célula contiene un colector de producto provisto por un compartimento (9) de recepción del cloruro que procede de cada ánodo, y un segundo compartimento (8) de recepción del sodio o del litio que procede del cátodo o de los cátodos. El colector comprende un conjunto colector permeable al agua, que se extiende por debajo del nivel superior del cátodo, y que comprende superficies de impacto que inducen la coalescencia de una parte de gotitas de sodio o de litio en el electrolito. En un segundo modo de realización, la célula contiene un conjunto de diafragma entre el ánodo y el cátodo que comprende dos estructuras adyacentes permeables al agua, comprendiendo cada una de estas estructuras una pluralidad de superficies de impacto y de aberturas inclinadas hacia arriba, lejos de la parte más cercana de dicha estructura adyacente. En un tercer modo de realización, la célula contiene uno o varios ánodos de grafito, siendo al menos 10% de la zona transversal media del ánodo, que constituye la parte que penetra en la célula, sustituido por un material cuya conductividad térmica es inferior a la del grafito.
