Abstract

Procédé pour éliminer l'anhydride sulfureux contenu dans des gaz, en particulier des gaz résiduaires industriels, par traitement de ces gaz à l'aide d'ammoniac et/ou de solutions contenant de l'ammoniac dans une installation de lavage. On dérive du circuit une petite partie de la solution en circulation contenant du sulfite et du bisulfite, on soumet ce courant partiel à une oxydation par l'oxygène, l'air ou un autre agent oxydant, avec formation de sulfate, et on traite les gaz déjà lavés à l'aide de cette solution oxydée Le procédé selon l'invention évite les pertes d'ammoniac sans faire appel à des opérations de lavage coûteuses.
