Abstract

The maximum speed of a road vehicle is limited by a device which shuts off the air and fuel supply when the chosen maximum speed is reached. A generator (5h) driven from the engine supplies a voltage (Ve) proportional to engine speed through a rectifier (6). The voltage (Ve) is for to a comparator (7) which compares it with a fixed voltage (V2). If the voltage (Ve) exceeds (V2) a signal (Vv) is transmitted to a relay (8) which energises a solenoid (9). The solenoid (9) closes the engine throttle (1) by means of the connecting cable and so shuts off the supply of air and fuel.
