Abstract

A new agglomerated particulate insoluble detergent adjuvant which is easily disintegrated, comprising a multiplicity of finely divided particles of zeolite ion-exchanger held together with a binder, the agglomerated particles having a mesh size of 4-180 mesh. The zeolite is pref. an exchanger of Ca, Mg and Fe ions and has a min. particle size of 15 microns. The binder may be a surfactant, a polymer, sugar, gum, water soluble starch salt or a mixt., the agglomerated particles pref. having a size of 6-140. Used to replace the very common adjuvants, polyphosphates, in detergent compsns. which pollute natural water sources. Other suggested adjuvants have undesirable properties.
