Abstract

The hand grip is particularly for strap hanging passengers in public transport vehicles, the strap being folded to form two loops in a figure-8 secured by a clip between them. One loop acts as the grip and the other anchors it to the supporting bar. The clip is in the form of a tubular cage (2) containing three thicknesses of strap (5) one on top of the other, a wedge (3) being fitted between two of them inside it. Locking devices (9, 10, 11) secure wedge, strap portions and cage in position in relation to each other. There can be internal bosses in the clip and one on the wedge, engaging in holes in the strap.
