Abstract

Pour précipiter du fer sous forme de jarosite à partir d'une solution de sulfate, on fait passer cette solution à travers plusieurs zones réactionnelles pour oxyder et hydrolyser le sulfate ferreux en présence d'ions de métaux alcalins ou d'ions ammonium, pour précipiter la jarosite et former simultanément de l'acide sulfurique, selon un profil de température inversé, c'est-à-dire avec une température dans la dernière zone réactionnelle supérieure à celle de la première zone réactionnelle par suite de l'injection de vapeur d'eau dans la dernière zone réactionnelle. L'invention s'applique en particulier au traitement de résidus des usines de métallurgie du zinc.
