Abstract
On récupère le nickel contenu dans des minerais d'oxyde en lessivant ces minerais avec de l'acide sulfurique. On délaye le minerai avec de l'eau, on le chauffe préalablement à une température de lessivage comprise entre 230 et 300 degrés C environ, et on introduit la bouillie préchauffée dans un autoclave ou une série d'autoclaves vigoureusement agités. On ajoute l'acide sulfurique par fractions à la bouillie préchauffée pour réduire au minimum la quantité de fer et d'aluminium en solution jusqu'à ce que d'environ 0,15 partie à environ 0,8 partie d'acide par partie de minerai sec ait été ajouté à la bouillie, ce qui permet de réduire au minimum le dépôt de tartre dans les autoclaves. Traitement des limonites et des silicates nickélifères.
