Abstract

L'invention concerne un procédé amélioré de gonflement du tabac comportant certaines modifications par rapport au procédé de base consistant à mettre le tabac en contact avec de l'anhydride carbonique liquide pour l'imprégner d'anhydride carbonique liquide, à soumettre le tabac imprégné d'anhydride carbonique liquide à des conditions telles que l'anhydride carbonique liquide soit transformé en anhydride carbonique solide, et à soumettre ensuite le tabac contenant de l'anhydride carbonique solide à des conditions dans lesquelles l'anhydride carbonique solide se vaporise en provoquant le gonflement du tabac L'amélioration consiste notamment à régler la teneur en matières volatiles à l'étuve du tabac utilisé au premier stade à 17 à 30 %, à effectuer le premier stade sous 17,5 à 37 kg/cm**2, à égoutter l'anhydride carbonique en excès après ce premier stade, et à régler l'humidité de sortie du produit recueilli après le troisième stade à moins de 6 %. Application au traitement du tabac blond.
