Les électrodes négatives comportent une partie centrale plane et des parties marginales qui contiennent plus de matière active que la partie centrale. Les électrodes positives comportent une partie centrale plane, de même dimension que celle de l'électrode négative et des parties marginales qui contiennent moins de matière active que la partie centrale. A cet effet, la partie marginale des électrodes negatives est épaissie tandis que celle des électrodes négatives est amincie. L'invention s'applique notamment aux batteries au nickel-zinc.
