Il comprend une unité de relais à l'état solide commandée par un faible courant (de l'ordre du mA) sous une faible tension (quelques volts) et délivrant un courant de sortie plus intense. Ce courant de sortie commande une pluralité d'indicateurs signalant les conditions suivantes : terre bonne, terre déconnectée, défaut de prise de terre, défaut dans le circuit d'essai. c. Commande des moteurs ou appareils électriques en conditions dangereuses : séchages des couches fluidisées, pompage dans les pétroliers.
