Abstract

1462383 Electric protection systems GOH KEN LIN 3 June 1974 [6 April 1973] 16506/73 Headings H2K and H2E A safety device for the supply to electric apparatus 19 has multi-terminal inlet and outlets to 10 and 16 between which is connected a circuit which is responsive to changes in conductivity between earth and monitor terminals (prongs E and C of plug 17) to actuate a switch circuit including contacts K2/2 arranged to disconnect inlet and outlet current carrying terminals of the line L under this condition. A buzzer 20 and lamp 32 are also energized. The safety device may be by-passed by operation of a switch 33 which also controls a lamp 34. Fig. 1 shows a socket for receiving live and neutral prongs and the E and C prongs of a plug (Fig. 3, not shown) with insulation or an air gap between the E and C prongs which enter a single aperture to contact E and C terminals having insulator I, therebetween. Alternatively a four pin and socket arrangement (Figs. 2 and 4, not shown) may be used.
