Abstract

Canon à électrons comportant une région de formation de faisceau et un système de lentilles de focalisation qui comprend une première électrode d'accélération et de focalisation et une électrode finale de focalisation et d'accélération, caractérisé en ce que le système de lentilles de focalisation comporte également une électrode intermédiaire d'accélération et de focalisation, disposée entre la première électrode d'accélération et de focalisation, et l'électrode d'accélération et de focalisation, cette électrode intermédiaire formant un élément de lentille électronique sensiblement cylindrique, de rayon R et de longueur Lm, entourant ladite trajectoire de faisceau, et en ce que ledit canon à électrons comprend également des moyens pour appliquer un premier potentiel PHI 3 à ladite première électrode d'accélération et de focalisation, un second potentiel PHI 4 , à ladite électrode intermédiaire et un troisième potentiel PHI 5 à ladite électrode d'accélération et de focalisation, ces potentiels étant choisis tels que PHI 3 < PHI 4 < PHI 5 .
