Abstract

On améliore considérablement la stabilité dimensionnelle d'étoffes tissées, tricotées ou à poil sans nuire à leur perméabilité à l'air par liaison de l'étoffe, sous l'effet combiné de la chaleur et de la pression, avec une structure ajourée faite d'une matière thermoplastique et avec une nappe de fibres coupées ou de filaments continus, qui assurent cette stabilisation. La matière thermoplastique fondue pénètre complètement dans la nappe et partiellement dans l'étoffe. Un appareil pour la fabrication de cette étoffe comprend des moyens 18 pour aligner l'étoffe, des moyens 19 pour la tendre transversalement, des moyens 22 et 24 pour amener en contact avec l'étoffe la structure ajourée 23 et la nappe 25, des moyens 21 pour chauffer la structure ajourée pour qu'elle fonde au moins en partie, et des moyens 26 pour presser l'une contre l'autre, l'étoffe, la structure et la nappe et refroidir la matière thermoplastique.
