Abstract

La présente invention a pour objet un catalyseur comprenant un oxyde ou un sulfure d'un métal du Groupe VI-B et un oxyde ou un sulfure d'un métal du Groupe VIII associé à une base d'alumine poreuse. Elle est caractérisée en ce que ce catalyseur présente : - un volume de pores compris entre O,65 et 0,95 cm** 2/g, - un diamètre de pore moyen de 145 à 170 Angström, - une aire superficielle de 180 à 220 m**2/g, - au moins 50 % du volume de pores étant constitués par des pores ayant 0 à 100 Angström de diamètre. Elle se rapporte à un procédé pour éléminer des métaux et du soufre d'une huile hydrocarbonée résiduelle utilisant un tel catalyseur.
