Abstract

L'invention a pour objet la récupération de xylose par hydrolyse de résidus de végétaux annuels avec des solutions acides. On solubilise, dissout et extrait les sels et les substances organiques indésirables des résidus en les mettant en contact à contre-courant avec une solution aqueuse acide à température élevée; on presse les résidus traités; on humidifie les résidus pressés jusqu'à une teneur en humidité d'au moins 75 % à l'aide d'une solution acide contenant du xylose mais ne contenant pas de SO2 ; on hydrolyse les pentosanes présents dans les résidus acidifiés; on achève l'hydrolyse en abaissant la température par refroidissement ou par décompression du réacteur; on extrait les pentoses des résidus avec de l'eau ; et on filtre la solution de xylose, on la traite à l'aide de résines échangeuses d'ions, on concentre par évaporation et on récupère le xylose du sirop par cristallisation et isolement de la masse cristalline. Récuperation du xylose à partir de la paille et possibilité d'utiliser les fibres débarrassées de xylose pour la fabrication du papier et autres usages.
