Abstract

Procédé de traitement de charbon sous-bitumineux et de charbons de qualité inférieure contenant du calcium, afin de former des sels de calcium insolubles, thermiquement stables, qui restent dans les portions solides du résidu lors de la liquéfaction du charbon, supprimant ainsi la formation de tartre, constitué principalement de carbonate de calcium. Un oxyde. de soufre, en phase vapeur, est mis en contact avec une charge de charbon, en quantité suffisante pour imprégner les pores du charbon. Application à la liquéfaction du charbon sans formation significative de vatérite ou d'autres formes de dépôts de carbonate de calcium sur les surfaces du réacteur, sur l'équipement auxiliaire, et similaires.
