Abstract

Obtention de 3-bromophtalide. On fait réagir de l'acide o-toluique à des températures élevées, avec du brome ou des substances donnant du brome, avec séparation de HBr. Comme substances donnant du brome, on utilise BrCl ou le N-bromosuccinimide. On travaille dans la masse fondue à des températures de 105 à 260 degrés C et dans des solvants organiques, l'acide o-toluique et le brome réagissant dans des rapports molaires de 1 : 2 à environ 1 : 2,2. Application connue pour la préparation d'esters phtalidyliques de pénicilline, d'ampicilline ou de céphalosporine.
