Abstract

L'invention concerne un système de mesure de la vitesse et de la direction de courants d'une masse fluide. Le système est caractérisé en ce qu'il est prévu en combinaison un sonar Doppler donnant la vitesse du véhicule porteur par rapport au fond un courantomètre donnant la vitesse de courants par rapport au véhicule, un commutateur et une horloge-mère assurant la synchronisation des opérations, ainsi qu'un processeur de données placé à la sortie et déterminant à partir de la vitesse de courant et de la vitesse de véhicule la valeur vraie de la vitesse de courant par rapport au fond. Application à des systèmes hydrographiques et à des installations de forage sous-marin.
