Abstract

The spark ignition system for a gas burner ignites the burner when the switch is closed, and three capacitors are charged. When the charge on the first capacitor reaches a minimum predetermined value, the rectifier is primed. Two junctions reach a maximum potential value and two further junctions reach a minimum potential value. The oscillator then comes into effect and the base of a transistor becomes negative. When the other two capacitors lose their charge, the oscillator becomes ineffective and the transistor base potential changes.
