Abstract

The multi-tube boiler produces hot water or saturated or superheated steam, having lengthwise top and bottom manifolds connected by the water tubes. The water tubes form walls placed edge to edge to make a closed housing, inside which are two internal walls formed by water tubes. Thus there are three adjacent transverse zones together forming a serpentine path for the fumes. The first zone is the combustion chamber, and the third the convection bundle. The second zone can also form a convection bundle, or merely a flue. Where the boiler is used for steam generator there can be a watersteam dome connected to the upper manifold and outside the closed housing.
