Abstract
Ce joint universel ou joint de cardan comprend deux fourches ou mâchoires reliées l'une à l'autre par un croisillon. Selon l'invention, pour limiter l'angle d'inclinaison de la fourche 7 par rapport à la fourche 4 à une valeur qui n'est pas atteinte pendant le service normal mais facilite, à l'arrêt, des opérations d'accouplement ou de désaccouplement, la croisillon 5 présente une cavité axiale 18, chaque fourche porte une cheville de limitation d'inclinaison 19 disposée au centre et faisant axialement saillie dans la cavité du croisillon et les extrémités 23 des deux chevilles forment des faces de butée concentriques à l'axe de rotation 17 et par lesquelles les chevilles peuvent s'appliquer l'une contre l'autre pour limiter l'angle d'inclinaison. L invention est notamment applicable aux laminoirs.
