Abstract

System incorporates two dismantling carriages and two locking carriages. Each dismantling carriage has a driving finger which can be put out of action, and a resettable stop finger. A mechanism connecting the fingers can bring about the projection of the driving finger and the lowering of the stop finger, and then the projection of the stop finger and the lowering of the driving finger. A bistable mechanism holds the stop finger in position. The locking carriage has a hook for holding the subsequent plate and a catch which can prevent the carriage from moving back. The hook can be out of action. Problems associated with handling large heavy plates which run on wheels, are avoided. The system is simple and reliable and has few components. It allows only the plate at the head to be sepd. from a stack of loaded plates, drawn away from the subsequent plate, stopped, and then drawn to the end of the frame.
