Abstract

Belt comprises a layer of longitudinal cords made from wire or textile. Under this is another layer of similar cords, lying transversely across the belt. Both layers are embedded in an elastomer and the lower external layer is of rubber. The upper working surface is both heat and abrasion resistant and comprises four layers of glass fibre cloth laid with the bias of each at 90 degree so that adjacent. Pref. these layers are consolidated by a calendering process using a chlorobutyl rubber compsn. as a binder, the separate layer being close together.
