Abstract

The vehicle armour protection system consists of a structure on which protective devices are fixed in at least two different planes, preferably orthogonal to each other. It can principally consists of primary armour, secondary armour, and bracing partitions, together forming compartments with six faces. Active protection can be provided by a set of three layers, two of heavy metal enclosing one of explosive, parallel to and clear of components of the structure. The set can be made up of one layer of heavy metal, one of explosive and one of damping material covering the structural components.
