Abstract

The metal glazing bar (6) is of a winged (5) 'U' section, accommodates elastic seals (7), and may be on lantern windows. The webs are internally grooved (8) to retain a sliding filler (9) and the wings or flanges (5) return externally to seat the edges of the conjunctive panes (4) in a common plane. A masking section (17a) with a retaining screw (14) through to the filler (9) completes the assembly. The screw (14) is tightened to clamp the edges of the panes (4) between the flanges of the glazing bar and the legs of the masking section. The filler (9) is a friction fit in the glazing bar and, thus, locates in any required position without additional aids. Friction may be created by a spring ring in a peripheral groove. The retaining screw enters a threaded hole (13) in the filler, and the sections inc. grooves locating seals (7,22).
