Abstract

The lockable pin-joint is for use between the stay (4) and a support (1) of a awning type blind, and provides a secure fixture against wind forces. The support member (1) is of polygonal e.g. square hollow section, and the joint utilises a ring (3) which surrounds the support (1). Two externally toothed and internally notched semi-circular packing pieces (17,19) locate the support (1) in the ring (3). Two segmental toothed wedges (27) are used to clamp the ring (3) to the packing (17, 18). The wedges (27) are housed in recesses (25,26) in the bore of the ring (3), may be disposed symmetrically relative to an axial ring plane (C), and are tightened onto the packing piece by bolts (30).
