Abstract

The spigot-type cover for containers holding liquid or solids, has a spigot edge around a central section. The central section (2) is detachable from the spigot edge (1), to whose inner edge (3) it can be attached, typically by hot-sealing. It can be of plastics or metal foil coated with plastics on the underside, typically aluminium foil, and equipped with a tear-open lug. The design allows easy opening, without the risk of spillage of the contents.
