Abstract

Morse code signals used for transmission of information are converted automatically into binary coded signals to produce clear text. This overcomes risks of errors due to operator physical and mental conditions such as fatigue. High speed morse code signals are received and processed to eliminate key bounce and other parasitic effects to produce signals compatible with logic circuits. A Schmitt trigger regenerates the signals which are then measured against a time base to identify the codes. The time base operates a square wave generator whose output is counted by a four bit counter. The counter outputs are gated to produce binary coded elements and also control signals.
