Abstract

The interface connects directly a keyboard accounting machine to a stock control computer, eliminating the intermediate punched paper tape. The keyboard machine generates data in binary code, and a decoder converts this into decimal codes for entry into the stock control computer. The output circuits on the keyboard accounting machine normally used to drive a perforator are connected via the decoder to the input circuits of the computer. Signals from the keyboard via a bistable circuit activate the decoder. Multivibrators shape the output pulses.
