Abstract

A yarn or filament is treated with a gas or liquid by guiding and supporting it through a confined space such that the fluid acts upon the yarn at least twice. The device used comprises >=1 fluid jet associated with >=1 zone for deviating, or even reversing the flow of the fluid emitted. The zone is disposed face to face with the fluid jet. A fluid evacuation zone is provided on the same side as the jet issuing the fluid. The fluid jets are disposed on one side of the moving yarn, but slightly deviated from it, opposite to concave hollow, arranged singly or in groups, e.g. of five. The hollows deviate or reverse the flow of fluid, which is then collected in an evacuation zone next to the nozzle. This zone may comprise a diffuser cone.
