Abstract

Aluminium-zinc alloy, used esp. as an anode protecting a metal structure which is in contact with a corrosive electrolyte, 8-40% of Al or Zn and as balance the other metal (Zn or Al), plus 5% in total of impurities or opt alloy addns. The pref. alloys contain:- (1) 8-15% of Al or Zn; or (2) 30-40% Al or Zn. The Al used in the alloys pref. has purity >=99.8%, whereas the Zn employed pref. has purity >=99.95%.
