Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve voltage flatness and discharge usability by providing a metal net or an expanded metal on one side of a cathode active element opposite to the anode or a both sides between which the cathode is held, in an organic electrolyte aluminum battery. CONSTITUTION:A cathode in a battery composed of an anode using as an anode active element metal oxide, metal halide, or metal sulfide; an organic electrolyte employing an organic solvent; and a cathode containing as a cathode active element Al or an Al alloy is formed for example with Al1 and a metal net 2. Expanded metal may be used in place of the metal net 2, and the metal net or the expanded metal is preferably composed of nobler metal of metal alloy than Al which is easily amalgamated, such as copper, zinc or gold, or the alloy thereof.
