Abstract

L'invention décrit une composition de polystyrène choc pouvant présenter un retard de la propagation d'une flamme. On obtient une telle composition en incorporant à du polystyrène modifié par du caoutchouc un N,N'-alkylène-bis-tétrabromophtalimide dont le groupe alkylène contient 2 à 15 atomes de carbone. Un agent préféré est le N,N' -éthylène-bistétrabromophtalimide. Les compositions obtenues présentent un bon équilibre entre leurs propriétés physiques, notamment une bonne stabilité à l'ultraviolet et une bonne température de la déformation à chaud.
