Abstract

The track is designed to fit a motorised vehicle (1), such as a tractor, to improve its movement over soft ground. It can be fitted and removed, depending on ground conditions, and comprises a beam (2) each side of the vehicle, each carrying two pneumatic road wheels (3, 4). This beam is extendable each end (5, 6) these also each carrying a similar wheel (7, 8). The engine drive shaft (11a) is fitted with a chain wheel (11) and the track (11) and the track (12) runs over the chain wheel and under the pneumatic road wheels. Each length of track is built up from connected links (13, 14, 15) and tension is applied by means of the extendable beams.
