Abstract

The suspension strut for motorcycles has a central shock absorber and a coaxial helicoidal spring (2) which presses on a washer (3). The washer is fixed to the shock absorber outer tube (4) and also rests on another washer (5). This second washer pivots on a part (6) of the upper fixing (7) wiht ramps (8). These give a variation in the spring strength according to the load carried. An adjusted lever (9) acts on the washer (5). The crimping (10) of the upper tube (4) holds the base of an elastomer tube (11) which plays a fluid role in compression.
